Project summary
WordPress to Shopify
Boil and Broth’s previous website was built using WordPress and WooCommerce. Rachel felt that the platform was holding the business back due to limitations in the e-commerce user experience and the constraints of the software.
With a new product launch and rebrand planned for March 2024, the timeline for delivering a new online presence was tight — completion was required within six weeks to coincide with Crufts.
Shopify was chosen as the preferred e-commerce solution, offering a more user-friendly platform and a proven online shopping experience for customers. A new logo was supplied, and the website was built around this refreshed visual identity, along with the updated packaging to be introduced with the new product range.
The migration involved transferring orders, customer details, products, pages, and blog content — including a reward points scheme that had been running for several years. Throughout the build, a careful process was followed to ensure that existing search engine rankings were not put at risk.
Rachel was keen to evaluate the effectiveness of the user experience, and advice and guidance were provided on strengthening messaging and content — with the aim of creating the simplest and most effective transaction process for customers.
The new website was thoroughly tested prior to launch to ensure zero errors, both technically and from a marketing perspective. It was also connected to Boil and Broth’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, resolving previous issues with managing social media commerce — all with the click of a button.
The website went live three days before Crufts opened to visitors. To support the launch of the new product branding and website, a Google advertising campaign was implemented, targeting visitors attending the event in Birmingham. The campaign reached 28,719 people during Crufts week, with a total budget of less than £25.
Rachel has developed a product that is genuinely loved by her customers — and their dogs — with word-of-mouth playing a key role in her business growth. It was a pleasure to work with her and to witness her vision for the future come to life.
